Week 8 Progress

Looking back...
I think I made good progress in the first few weeks and kept up with the material. However, in the last two weeks I haven't managed my time as well I would have liked, and so I haven't been able to make the progress I wanted to by this point. So far though, I think I'm most proud of the fact that I have been able to write a story each week (except for Week 5 where I tried the Story Lab), because I've really enjoyed writing the stories. I've tried some of the extra credit assignments, but I particularly like the ones where we make graphics like the MemeGenerator and the Motivator.
Looking forward...
I'm going to try to do a better job of keeping up with the assignments and I want to especially start working on weekend assignments earlier. I definitely want to also experiment with other styles of writing, like a play or putting a story in the context of a TV show, movie and so on. I might also try changing up the layout of my blog and background picture, just for something new for the second half of the semester.

    Daana,

    I also struggle with my assignments on the weekends (i'm literally doing my comments at midnight)! I find it easy to stay on top of my assignments during the week, but find that having so many things due Sunday night is such a struggle. I am glad I am not the only one. I have been trying to do some extra credit here or there to hopefully provide buffer in the upcoming weeks. I can see that you have too so hopefully, you won't be as stressed towards end of semester!

Week 5 Story: "Sita, Warrior of the Earth"

A warrior of the Earth. Source : Flickr Let me tell you the version of the story they never tell. I was not just the daughter of the Earth, I was her warrior. At the time of my birth, my parents believed I was only a gift from the goddess. Some called her Bhudevi, others called her Bhumi, but while growing up in the kingdom of Videha, she was only known to me as Mother Earth. There were times I thought I felt her presence with me, watching and guiding with a gentle care. When I was very young, I had a keen interest in weaponry and martial arts. I felt as though I was stitched together with fight in my bones, a quick wit and sharp tongue as my aid when physical strength failed me.
