Summary:
  • In Vidarbha, news of Kamsa's defeat by Krishna has traveled fast and far; While the rulers of the kingdom, King Bheeshmaka and his wife are in favour of Krishna, Rukmi, Rukmini's brother, is angered by the death of his so called 'friend'
  • As the councilors gather to discuss, Rukmini pitches in, in favour of Krishna and is immediately falls for him; she is ignored by her brother who scolds her for supporting him
  • Rukmi fights against Krishna with allies of the late Kamsa;
  • Her parents wish that she would marry Krishna, but her brother convinces their father otherwise; Rukmi tells their father that Rukmini should marry Shishupala (Rukmini calls him a Jackal lol)
  • Rukmi overhears their conversation and decides to send word to Krishna, through a trusted Brahman; she asks that he comes save her but to still spare her people
  • When Krishna receives the Brahman and Rukmini's message he is overjoyed and decides to help her, for he too has fallen in love with her across space and time (she is considered an incarnation of Lakshmi)
  • Rukmini is denied a swayamwara; she is just to be wed and therefore Krishna attends the wedding with an assemble (he is coming to rescue her) and his brother Balrama; meanwhile her parents keep wishing that Krishna will save their daughter
  • On the wedding day, Rukmini does not see Krishna, but she must go to the temple to pray first and she begs Parvati for help
  • Krishna to the rescue! He steals her away on his chariot and a great fight ensues; in the end, Krishna and his assemble bests them; Krishna cuts half the hair and moustache of Rukmi who was trying to fight him to get back his sister and avenge his 'friend's' death
  • In the end, Rukmini and Krishna are married in Dwaraka
